Why Choose Us

Why Choose The Seed Dayhomes Agency

We know that choosing child care is a big decision. You want a place that feels safe, personal, and full of care — not just a service.

At The Seed Dayhomes Agency, we go beyond helping families find a space. We build real partnerships between parents, educators, and our team so that everyone feels supported.

What Makes Us Different

Licensed Quality You Can Trust
All of our Dayhomess are fully licensed, safety-checked, and visited regularly by our agency consultants. We make sure every home is not only meeting Alberta standards, but providing a space that feels warm and family-like.
Educators Who Feel Supported
We believe happy educators create happy homes. That’s why we offer regular check-ins, ongoing training, and easy access to help when they need it. They get the tools and encouragement to focus on what really matters — caring for children.
A Home Away From Home
Every Seed Dayhomes has its own personality, but all share one thing — a cozy, welcoming feel. Small group sizes, home-cooked meals, outdoor play, and creative activities make each day full of calm routines and little adventures.
Learning Through Play
Our educators believe learning happens through play, curiosity and relationships — not worksheets. Every child learns at their own pace and in their own way.
Real Partnership With Families
We see parents as our partners. You’ll always know what’s happening in your child’s day through updates, photos, and open conversations. We listen, collaborate, and work together to give your child the best experience possible.
Everyone Is Welcome
We proudly support families and educators from all cultures, backgrounds, and faiths. Our homes reflect Edmonton’s diversity — a place where every child feels they belong.
Connecting With Nature
Children spend time outside every day — exploring, planting, and noticing the world around them. Our educators weave nature, mindfulness, and sustainability into everyday care.
A Strong Sense of Belonging
When you join The Seed Dayhomes Agency, you’re not just joining one home — you’re joining a caring community. We host events, share resources, and stay connected as your child grows.

At The Seed Dayhomes Agency, care feels personal, learning feels joyful, and families feel at home.

Family Partnerships

At The Seed Dayhomes Agency, we believe families are at the heart of everything we do.

You know your child best, and we want to work with you — not just for you. Our goal is to build strong, trusting relationships where families, educators, and our agency team all support one another. When we grow together, children thrive.

Working Together
We go beyond daily updates and quick drop-offs. Our educators and consultants take the time to really get to know your family — your child’s routines, likes, challenges, and the things that make them smile. Whether it’s through a quick chat at pick-up, photos from the day, or regular check-ins, we make sure you always feel connected and informed.
Respecting Every Family’s Story
Every family is unique — in culture, language, values, and traditions. We welcome that diversity and bring it into our homes. You might see children celebrating different holidays, learning greetings in new languages, or cooking meals inspired by their friends’ families. These small moments help every child feel proud of who they are and curious about the world around them.
Open and Honest Communication
We believe trust comes from honesty. That’s why our agency and educators are always open about how we care for children, how licensing works, and what families can expect. We’re here to listen, answer questions, and make sure you feel confident and at ease — every step of the way.
Growing Together
Family partnership means we all keep learning — parents, educators, and our agency team. We offer workshops, share resources, and provide guidance on early learning and child development. We also learn from you — because no one knows your child better than you do.
Our Promise to Families
  • You’ll always be heard and respected.
  • Your child’s needs and personality guide everything we do.
  • Communication will always be open, honest, and caring.
  • We’ll celebrate your role as your child’s first and forever teacher.

When families and educators work together, children grow with confidence and joy — and that’s what The Seed Dayhomes Agency is all about.

Parent FAQs (Subsidy & Grants)

We’re here to support you — with care that feels personal and help that makes life a little easier.

Families in licensed family dayhomes may qualify for two programs:
  • The Affordability Grant (automatically applied to reduce fees).
  • The Child Care Subsidy (based on household income, requiring an application).
We’ll guide you through both.
The Affordability Grant is built into our fee structure — we manage that for you.

For the Child Care Subsidy, we’ll help you complete and submit your application online and track its progress.
Many families pay as little as $10–$15/day after grant and subsidy support.
Typically, your most recent Notice of Assessment, proof of child’s age, and care schedule are required. Our agency will provide a checklist and help you upload the right documents.
Subsidy approvals usually take 2–3 weeks once all documents are submitted. We help ensure your file is complete to avoid delays.

You can apply for subsidy if:
  • You or your spouse/partner, or the child receiving care are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and live in Alberta;
  • You or your spouse/partner are an Alberta resident;
  • Your children are 6 years of age or younger and are not yet attending Kindergarten;
  • You and your spouse/partner are currently working, attending school, looking for work or have special needs; OR
  • You or your spouse/partner stay-at-home and have your child(ren) enrolled in a licensed pre-school or approved early childhood development program.
